From the beginning of the pandemic, there are 19,419 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Monday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
Six new deaths related to the coronavirus have been confirmed since our last report on Friday. The death toll is now 371.
80 people are now in hospital care because of the virus. This is seven patients more than on Friday. 13 people are receiving intensive care, which is one patient fewer than in our last report.
During the weekend (Saturday–Sunday) the total number of new infections was 457. Most new infections were confirmed in the capital region: 141 in Helsinki, 78 in Vantaa and 64 in Espoo.
The number of new infections between Sunday and Monday is 104.
In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 35 in Helsinki, 23 in Vantaa and 13 in Espoo.
In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:
5 in Oulu, 5 in Kouvola, 2 in Sipoo, 2 in Tornio, 2 in Kruunupyy, 2 in Mikkeli, 2 in Kerava, 1 in Uusikaupunki, 1 in Ylitornio, 1 in Kempele, 1 in Lieto, 1 in Tuusula, 1 in Kemi, 1 in Järvenpää, 1 in Pukkila, 1 in Raahe, 1 in Kuopio, 1 in Ii, 1 in Porvoo.
The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.
