From the beginning of the pandemic, there are 19,647 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Tuesday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
The number of new infections between Monday and Tuesday is 228.
In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 88 in Helsinki (6,124), 27 in Espoo (2,290), 26 in Vantaa (2,064) and 23 in Turku (871).
In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:
6 in Lahti, 5 in Tampere, 5 in Pori, 4 in Jyväskylä, 4 in Salo, 4 in Oulu, 3 in Porvoo, 3 in Kuopio, 3 in Kirkkonummi, 2 in Mäntsälä, 2 in Raahe, 2 in Seinäjoki, 1 in Masku, 1 in Raisio, 1 in Aura, 1 in Pirkkala, 1 in Tornio, 1 in Kempele, 1 in Hollola, 1 in Ylöjärvi, 1 in Nurmijärvi, 1 in Lohja, 1in Vihti, 1 in Eurajoki, 1 in Joensuu, 1 in Kauniainen, 1 in Tuusula, 1 in Närpiö.
In addition there were new infections confirmed in Alajärvi and Soini but the number is unknown.
The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.
80 people are now in hospital care because of the virus. 13 people are receiving intensive care.
No new deaths have been reported. The death toll is at 371.
