The postal strike and its supporting strikes will end immediately.

The involved parties, Palta, the association for service sector businesses, and PAU, the Finnish Post and Logistics Union, have reached an agreement on Tuesday morning at the office of the national conciliator, Vuokko Piekkala.

Heidi Nieminen, the chairwoman of PAU, said to the media that their agreement is a kind they were looking for when considering the position of the package sorters who had been left out of negotiations on better terms.

The disagreement was solved by keeping the 700 package sorters as members of PAU. Their employer, Posti Palvelut Oy (Posti Services Oy), will become a member of Palta.

In practice, the package sorters’ collective agreement is now similar to the agreement between PAU and Palta.
