The slippery weather and snowfall caused several fender benders on Thursday morning in the capital region.
In Kirkkonummi and Espoo, several cars crashed into the balustrades but no persons were injured, according to the rescue department. Several cars were towed away.
The most severe crash happened at Porintie in Lohja, about 80 kilometers to the west from Helsinki.
A truck and a passenger car crashed head-on with each other just after 01:00 in the afternoon.
Three persons were seriously injured.
The accident is being investigated by the Western Uusimaa Police Department.
