A total of seven coronavirus infections caused by the new virus variant, Omicron, have been detected in Finland, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) reports on Saturday.

One case has been confirmed in the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa, four in Finland Proper and two in Northern Savonia.

All infections, according to THL, belong to the same infection chain.
