The recall is related to more than 100 Salmonella infections linked to Ferrero chocolate products in eight countries.
Ferrero Scandinavia AB will recall Kinder Surprise eggs in Finland as “a voluntary precautionary measure,” the company noted in a statement on Thursday.

There is an “unusually high” proportion of children hospitalized, some with severe symptoms such as bloody diarrhea, the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) and European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) noted.
So far, in Finland, no cases of Salmonella have been reported. Ferrero together with the Finnish Food Authority is investigating any possible cases linked to Finland.
The recall concerns the following products in Finland:
Kinder Surprise 20g: best before between 7.11.2022–10.7.2022
Kinder Surprise 20g pink: best before between 7.11.2022–10.7.2022
Kinder Surprise 20g x 3-pack: best before between 7.11.2022–10.7.2022
Kinder Mini Eggs: best before date 8.21.2022
Kinder Schoko-Bons: best before 5.25.2022–8.19.2022
