Pori Jazz festival was canceled this year, but it has already confirmed some big names for 2021.

PORI—Pori Jazz has announced the first 18 artists to perform at the 2021 festival including American R&B singer and songwriter John Legend, British singer-songwriter Emeli Sandé and legendary American jazz pianist and composer Chick Corea, who will perform with his trio called The Vigilette.
Other highlights of the festival so far include tenor saxophonist Charles Lloyd, 82, jazz vocalist Cécile McLorin Salvant and Kenny Garrett, who once played with Miles Davis and Art Blakey before going solo.
In addition, there are plenty of Finnish artists on the confirmed list. Yet, there’s more to come. The festival said in a news release that the program “will be replenished in the forthcoming months.”
This year’s Pori Jazz was to begin at the atmospheric Kirjurinluoto concert park next week, but the festival was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
The 55th Pori Jazz will be held between July 9 and 17 in 2021 with the main concerts scheduled for July 15, 16 and 17.
Pori Jazz had announced several artists for summer 2020 before the cancellation and of those artists Dido, Herbie Hancock and Shabaka & The Ancestors won’t be able to perform at the 2021 festival.
Negotiations with other 2020 artists are ongoing.
