GALLERY: We Jazz Festival's Venue Breaks the Mold in an Exemplary Way

In early December, We Jazz organization, once again, proved to be one of the most innovative festival arrangers in the country with their week-long celebration of improvisational music when not much else was happening on the festival front. Maybe it’s because jazz-minded people tend to naturally lean more toward the creative side, but with that being said, it takes more than raw instincts to create a musical catharsis and — experience! — that hundreds if not more were delighted to experience at the climax of the festival at Korjaamo Culture Factory in Helsinki’s Töölö district.

Luckily we were one of them — and aside from the swinging tunes and neck-jerking grooves — what’s sparkling in memories of that soulful weekend were the colorful pathways covered with canopies that led from one building to the next where another ne plus ultra performance was waiting in rooms perfectly decorated and illuminated to support the artists’ intentions.

Here’s our gallery.
