A boat burns at Tokoinranta by the Eläintarhanlahti bay in Helsinki early on Tuesday morning.

The flames could be seen across the railway tracks at the Töölönlahti bridge at 5:40 in the morning.

At the shore, there were several fire trucks at the scene, and many firefighters were seen at the pier of the local boat club extinguishing a boat, which was pushing thick smoke up in the darkness.

According to the fire master on duty, Sami Lappalainen, the boat was eight meters long. It was made of glass fiber.

“There were no personal injuries, and the police are investigating the incident,” Lappalainen said to Finland Today.

After 07:00 in the morning the post-extinguishing process was still ongoing.
