On Friday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) confirmed 926 new coronavirus infections in Finland.
In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:
194 in Helsinki, 107 in Vantaa, 75 in Espoo, 50 in Rovaniemi, 47 in Turku, 37 in Oulu, 26 in Tampere, 22 in Kuusamo, 21 in Lappeenranta, 15 in Jyväskylä, 15 in Kuopio, 14 in Kerava, 12 in Vaasa, 11 in Kangasala, 11 in Tuusula, 11 in Porvoo, 10 in Mikkeli, 10 in Rauma, 9 in Lahti, 9 in Vihti, 9 in Raisio, 8 in Salo, 8 in Järvenpää, 8 in Naantali, 7 in Nurmijärvi, 7 in Kaarina, 7 in Riihimäki, 6 in Savonlinna, 6 in Lohja.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 116, 231.
THL has also confirmed one new death related to the coronavirus. The death toll is now at 998.
88 (+4) patients are receiving hospital care because of symptoms caused by the coronavirus. 22 (+3) patients are in intensive care.
