Since the beginning of the pandemic, there are 31,870 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Wednesday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Tuesday and Wednesday is 411.

In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities:

99 in Helsinki, 56 in Turku, 41 in Vantaa and 31 in Espoo, 18 in Tampere and Jyväskylä.

In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:

10 in Oulu, 7 in Pieksämäki, 7 in Kouvola, 7 in Lahti, 6 in Joensuu, 6 in Kaarina, 5 in Somero, 5 in Kerava, 5 in Lieto, 5 in Valkeakoski, 5 in Raisio, 4 in Hyvinkää, 4 in Tuusula, 4 in Järvenpää, 4 in Hämeenlinna, 3 in Vihti, 3 in Nokia, 3 in Kuopio, 3 in Vaasa, 3 in Kirkkonummi, 2 in Nurmijärvi, 2 in Kangasala, 2 in Hausjärvi, 2 in Tornio, 2 in Raahe, 2 in Hankasalmi, 2 in Ylöjärvi, 2 in Kontiolahti, 2 in Lempäälä, 1 in Sipoo, 1 in Imatra, 1 in Janakkala, 1 in Rautalampi,  1 in Salo, 1 in Parainen, 1 in Uusikaarlepyy, 1 in Kangasniemi, 1 in Porvoo, 1 in Orivesi, 1 in Sotkamo, 1 in Maarianhamina, 1 in Leppävirta, 1 in Uusikaupunki, 1 in Haapavesi, 1 in Muhos, 1 in Laukaa, 1 in Loimaa, 1 in Naantali, 1 in Mäntsälä, 1 in Kauniainen, 1 in Kitee.

New infections were also reported in Outokumpu but the numbers are unknown.
