There are 296 new coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released by the National Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) on Thursday.

The new numbers were revealed in a press conference related to the evaluation of the pandemic situation.

According to Mika Salminen, director of health and security at THL, who was one of the speakers in the conference, the scenario that was already feared in the spring where the pace of the coronavirus spread would pick up during the fall season is now true.
