A winter storm arrived in Finland on Sunday and raged heavily in the coastal regions of Ostrobothnia. Wind gusts of 28.4 meters per second were measured in Vaasa.

Just after midnight, over 10,000 people were without electricity across the country. At 5:00 on Monday morning, the number of power cuts was just over 2,000.

The rescue department—especially in the Ostrobothnia region—has been working tirelessly in damage prevention duties, which numbered to around 40.

In southern and western Finland, the heavy rains have caused rivers to flood, and many fields have gone under the water.

On Sunday evening, the wind knocked over a tree on a local bus in traffic in Espoo.

No persons were injured in the incident.
