HELSINKI

The Helsinki Police Department has caught the man who was suspected of an attempted armed robbery at the R-Kioski convenience store at Selkämerenkatu in Helsinki’s Ruoholahti district on Sunday afternoon. Originally, the location was reported being the neighboring Jätkäsaari district.

On Monday afternoon, the police published photos of the man on Twitter, which may have helped in catching the suspected robber.

The police say in a statement that they’re thankful of all observations “that significantly helped to catch the suspect quickly.”

According to the police, the apprehension of the man went peacefully, and the investigations are continuing with interrogations.
