ESPOO / VANTAA / KERAVA

Cities of Espoo, Vantaa and Kerava suffered major water damage on Tuesday evening when rain was pouring from the sky with an hourly amount of 17 millimeters.

According to the Central Uusimaa Rescue Department, the rain overflowed the sewers.

The water entered several apartment buildings. In Espoo center, the traffic was cut off for two hours because the sewage overflow created a 300-meter-long lake.

Among other cars, a taxi was afloat in the “lake,” water coming up to the windows.
