Oskari, 30, from Espoo is checking the Jätkäsaari map to determine the route for the egg hunt in Helsinki on March, 29, 2018. Picture: Tony Öhberg for Finland Today
It’s 6:00 on Maundy Thursday morning. The sun is yet to rise, but the lights of the passenger harbor of Jätkäsaari in Helsinki illuminate dark figures who twist, turn and stretch to poses that would get an accepting nod from any yoga teacher in town.
But these guys and ladies are not out to get in their morning exercise. They are hunting for golden Easter eggs!
“I’m hoping to win the main prize,” said Oskari, 30, who had arrived in Jätkäsaari from Espoo.

The main prize includes an overnight in one of Clarion Hotel Helsinki’s suites that rises in the horizon with its modern look and 16 floors.
This is the third time that the Norwegian hotel chain is arranging an egg hunt in Finland. For marketing? Sure. For fun? Absolutely.
Just look at these photos posted on their Facebook page of excited people, who have found a golden egg that could also contain smaller prizes like dinners and hair product samples. The hunt will officially continue till 18:00 in the evening.
Easter time fun has now officially begun.
