On Saturday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare has confirmed four new deaths related to the coronavirus. The death toll is now at 1,002.

In the past 24 hours THL has confirmed 765 new coronavirus infections.

Most new cases were found in the following cities:

174 in Helsinki, 88 in Espoo, 74 in Vantaa, 54 in Tampere, 39 in Turku, 25 in Oulu, 12 in Mikkeli, 12 in Jyväskylä, 11 in Hyvinkää, 10 in Seinäjoki, 9 in Nurmijärvi, 9 in Joensuu, 8 in Vaasa, 8 in Kouvola, 8 in Kajaani, 7 in Kangasala, 7 in Petäjävesi, 7 in Rovaniemi.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 116, 996.

88 (+0) patients are receiving hospital care because of symptoms caused by the coronavirus. 23 (+1) patients are in intensive care.
