On Friday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 566 new coronavirus infections in Finland.

In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:

136 in Helsinki, 57 in Espoo, 50 in Vantaa, 48 in Turku.

New infections were also confirmed in these cities and municipalities:

22 in Lahti, 17 in Tampere, 15 in Tuusula, 14 in Kerava, 12 in Salo, 11 in Savonlinna, 8 in Hamina, 8 in Lappeenranta, 8 in Vihti, 8 in Kouvola, 8 in Järvenpää, 8 in Jyväskylä, 7 in Kotka, 6 in Raisio, 6 in Porvoo, 5 in Pori, 5 in Kokkola, 5 in Seinäjoki, 4 in Virolahti, 4 in Pieksämäki, 4 in Oulu, 3 in Kuopio, 3 in Muurame, 3 in Joensuu, 3 in Mäntsälä, 2 in Hämeenlinna, 2 in Rauma, 2 in Mikkeli, 2 in Nurmijärvi, 2 in Hollola, 2 in Forssa, 2 in Hollola, 2 in Siilinjärvi,  2 in Säkylä, 2 in Vöyri, 2 in Karkkila, 2 in Vaasa, 2 in Pudasjärvi.

In addition, one new infection was confirmed in scattered cities across the country.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 78, 672.
