Since the beginning of the pandemic, there are 26,758 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Friday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Thursday and Friday is 336.

Seven new deaths have been reported since Wednesday when THL released new numbers on deaths. The death toll is now 415.

There are 24 people fewer than on Wednesday in the hospital being treated for the coronavirus. The number is now 141. 21 patients are in intensive care.

In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities:

120 in Helsinki (8,278), 34 in Espoo (3,061), 30 in Oulu (835) and 27 in Turku (1,098).
