There are 12,499 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Tuesday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Monday and Tuesday is 287.

Most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 83 in Vaasa (456), 53 in Helsinki (4,121), 34 in Jyväskylä (310).

In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:

15 in Tampere, 12 in Turku, 11 in Vantaa, 9 in Espoo, 6 in Seinäjoki, 5 in Mustasaari, 4 in Vöyri, 3 in Joensuu, 3 in Kaarina, 3 in Hämeenlinna, 2 in Sastamala, 2 in Kerava, 2 in Orivesi, 2 in Kauniainen, 2 in Pirkkala, 2 in Jämsä, 2 in Lahti, 1 in Kempele, 1 in Lappeenranta, 1 in Mäntsälä, 1 in Uusikaarlepyy, 1 in Kouvola, 1 in Hanko, 1 in Kokkola, 1 in Äänekoski, 1 in Masku, 1 in Savonlinna, 1 in Ylöjärvi, 1 in Laukaa, 1 in Tuusula, 1 in Närpiö, 1 in Kirkkonummi, 1 in Pietarsaari, 1 in Mikkeli, 1 in Oulu, 1 in Nurmijärvi, 1 in Järvenpää.

New infections were also confirmed in Maalahti, but the number is unknown.

Currently, there are 46 people in hospital care being treated for the coronavirus; 10 people are in intensive care.

No new deaths have been confirmed. The death toll is at 346.

The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.
