From the beginning of the pandemic, there are 24,912 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Monday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Sunday and Monday is 283.

In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities:

96 in Helsinki (7,756), 42 in Espoo (2,915), 37 in Vantaa (2,637) and 24 in Oulu (740).

In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:

13 in Turku, 5 in Karvia, 5 in Seinäjoki, 4 in Lappeenranta, 4 in Honkajoki, 3 in Sievi, 3 in Lahti, 3 in Pori, 2 in Lieksa, 2 in Tuusula, 2 in Pornainen, 2 in Mäntsälä, 2 in Kotka, 2 in Kangasniemi, 2 in Nurmijärvi, 2 in Imatra, 2 in Vihti, 2 in Hyvinkää, 2 in Järvenpää, 2 in Kouvola, 1 in Salo,  1 in Kaarina, 1 in Sodankylä, 1 in Hollola, 1 in Juva, 1 in Porvoo, 1 in Parkano, 1 in Maarianhamina, 1 in Kauniainen, 1 in Kokkola, 1 in Joensuu,  1 in Vaasa, 1 in Ylivieska, 1 in Pieksämäki, 1 in Simo, 1 in Jyväskylä, 1 in Raahe, 1 in Kempele.

In addition, new infections were confirmed in Ruokolahti but the number is unknown.

During the weekend (Saturday–Sunday) a total of 863 new infections were confirmed.

On Saturday (541 infections), most cases were found in Helsinki (130), Espoo (54), Oulu (48) and Vantaa (43).

On Sunday, (322 infections), most new infections were found in Helsinki (111), Oulu (37), Vantaa (32) and Espoo (22).
