From the beginning of the pandemic, there are 18,345 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Wednesday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
The number of new infections between Tuesday and Wednesday is 238
In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 71 in Helsinki (5,721), 33 in Vantaa (1,887) and 27 in Turku (798).
In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:
26 in Espoo, 11 in Sodankylä, 10 in Tampere, 6 in Oulu, 4 in Vaasa, 4 in Lahti, 3 in Kouvola, 2 in Kemiönsaari, 2 in Sipoo, 2 in Lohja, 2 in Rovaniemi, 2 in Mikkeli, 2 in Paimio, 2 in Kuopio, 2 in Porvoo, 2 in Aura, 1 in Kerava, 1 in Hollola, 1 in Pietarsaari, 1 in Lapinjärvi, 1 in Tervola, 1 in Hämeenlinna, 1 in Hyvinkää, 1 in Raasepori, 1 in Kemi, 1 in Pieksämäki, 1 in Luoto, 1 in Kauhajoki, 1 in Nurmijärvi, 1 in Imatra, 1 in Kangasala, 1 in Kotka, 1 in Ii, 1 in Karkkila, 1 in Kokkola, 1 in Vihti.
New infections were also reported in Liminka and Kauhava but the numbers are unknown.
The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.
THL will report of possible new deaths later on Wednesday. The death toll is now at 363.
Currently, there are 86 people in hospital care being treated for the coronavirus. 13 people are in intensive care.
