Since the beginning of the pandemic, 40,722 coronavirus infections have been confirmed in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Tuesday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Monday and Tuesday is 217.

In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities:

28 in Helsinki, 24 in Espoo, 20 in Vantaa, 17 in Oulu and 16 in Laitila.
