There are 14,970 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Monday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

The number of new infections between Sunday and Monday is 122.

Most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 38 in Helsinki (4,924), 19 in Vantaa (1,506) and 15 in Espoo (1,608).

In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:

7 in Turku, 4 in Kuopio, 4 in Oulu, 3 in Närpiö, 3 in Kotka, 2 in Hyvinkää, 2 in Porvoo, 2 in Muurame, 2 in Järvenpää, 1 in Lohja, 1 in Rauma, 1 in Siuntio, 1 in Pori, 1 in Kajaani, 1 in Riihimäki, 1 in Lappeenranta, 1 in Joensuu, 1 in Salo, 1 in Vaasa, 1 in Kouvola, 1 in Salo, 1 in Tampere, 1 in Kirkkonummi.

New infections were also confirmed in Rusko but the number is unknown.

During the weekend THL reported of a total of 374 new Covid-19 infections.

Between Friday and Saturday 178 new infections were confirmed. Most infections were found in Helsinki (67), Espoo (18), in Oulu (15) and in Vantaa (14).

Between Saturday and Sunday there were 196 new coronavirus infections with most new infections occurring in Helsinki (48), Espoo (33), Vantaa (24) and Kouvola (17).

The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.

Currently, there are 70 people in hospital care being treated for the coronavirus. This is five more patients in hospital care than in our previous report on Friday.

11 people are intensive care. This is four more patients than on Friday.

The death toll has decreased from 355 to 353 due to statistical corrections.
