The spring will have to wait as this week will begin with heavy snowfall. The Finnish Meteorological Institute and weather service Foreca forecast that as much as 30 centimeters of snow may fall in places in southern, central and eastern Finland.

On Monday, between 10 and 15 centimeters of snow is expected in the southern and the eastern parts.

On Tuesday, most snow will fall in the southern, eastern and northern parts. The eastern parts are likely to see the largest snowfall for the day: between 15 and 20 centimeters.

Wednesday will see the most snowfall mostly in the northern parts, between 5 and 10 centimeters, while about 10 to 20 centimeters of snow is expected to fall in Northern Ostrobothnia.

The Finnish Meteorological Institute has issued a warning for bad driving weather for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
