THE FROST PERIOD of the past weeks has created major challenges for the train fleet of the state railway company, VR.

Now VR has a goal.

According to their statement:

“The goal is to get train service back to normal as quickly as possible, and to ensure this, VR will continue to operate reduced train services during the beginning of the week.”

This means that “on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, VR will replace approximately 15%, or about 30 train services per day.”

Most of the replacement bus services will be operated on the Tampere–Pori, Seinäjoki–Vaasa and Tampere–Turku routes. Customers of the canceled services between Helsinki and Kupittaa will be transferred to other train services.
