THE TUSKA METAL FESTIVAL is here again and the expected tens of thousands of metalheads have gathered in Helsinki’s Suvilahti district. Looking at the crowd at the gates today, I wouldn’t be surprised if the festival breaks another record: the temperature is nearing 30 degrees Celsius, the asphalt is hot and the wide range of bands makes every headbanger’s dream come true. Last year, the three-day festival attracted 63,000 people!

The gates opened at 14:00 in the afternoon on Friday, and the line to get in was smooth and easy.

“Do you want to die?” asked a group of three people painted in serious death metal masks, while your correspondent was asked to take a snapshot of them.

We all shared a moment of heartfelt laughter.

This year, bands like Zeal & Ardor, Bring Me The Horizon, Ankor, and Parkway Drive will wreak havoc.

And many more!

Tuska is all about exploring and transcending your particular tastes; each edition is a memory for life.
