Two pedestrians have been killed in road accidents in the past two days.

At 08:40 on Wednesday morning, in Vaasa’s Ristinummi district, an older man was killed when a woman, about 20, hit the man with her passenger car. The accident happened when the man was passing a zebra crossing.

The Ostrobothnia Police Department are investigating the incident as an aggravated endangering of traffic safety and negligent homicide.

Alcohol is not suspected to play a role in the accident.

At 08:21 on Tuesday morning,  at Peijaksentie in Vantaa’s Koivukylä district, a man, 71, was killed when passing the road and got hit by a car. The accident happened at a zebra crossing next to Koivukylä school.

The Eastern Uusimaa Police Department is investigating the incident as an endangering of traffic safety and negligent homicide.
