HSL has canceled several morning buses and advises passengers to allow extra time. VR communications reports that most trains will run as normal.
Hazardous driving warnings are in effect for Southern Finland, Pirkanmaa, Central Finland and South Savo.
Several accidents have already occurred: Turunväylä in Espoo saw a crash before 07:00 closing a lane toward Helsinki; another accident happened on Hämeenlinnanväylä in Helsinki around 07:00 and in Vantaa at 05:39 a car veered off Lahdenväylä but caused no injuries.
Snowfall will move east during the day while cold, mostly dry weather continues in the north.
