The US President Donald Trump and his spouse, Melania, arrived at the Helsinki Airport on Sunday evening, about 21:00 local time.

President Trump looked relaxed but serious, wearing his trademark loose dark suit, as he waved to the media and the delegation before he descended the steps in front of Air Force One. Melania walked with a straight posture beside his husband, wearing a stylish, long jacket and leather pants.

On the ground, the presidential couple greeted, among others, Robert Pence, the US Ambassador to Finland and his spouse. He gave another wave and sat in the backseat of the black presidential limo.

Then Trump and Melania left in a long escort with the flags of Finland and the US flapping on the front fenders of the car.

They were escorted to the Hilton Helsinki Kalastajatorppa, where Trump and Melania will sleep before meeting President Sauli Niinistö and his spouse, Jenni Haukio, on Monday morning.

In the afternoon President Trump will meet his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, at the Presidential Palace.
