Prime Minister Sanna Marin (the SDP) and Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus of the World Health Organization WHO talked on the phone of the international virus situation on Friday.
They also addressed the WHO’s role in responding to the global COVID-19 pandemic and on Finland’s measures.
Prime Minister Marin informed the director-general of the government’s decision taken on April 16 to increase financial support to the World Health Organization by raising voluntary funding to 5.5 million euros.
Marin emphasized the importance of the work of the WHO overall and the need to further strengthen multilateral cooperation.
