Warm sunshine will greet most parts of the country on Tuesday. Picture: Tony Öhberg for Finland Today

On Tuesday, the weather is going to be warm in most parts of the country. Hot weather, plus 25 degrees Celsius, may occur in south-eastern Finland.

Should the threshold for hot weather be exceeded on Tuesday, it would make a mark in history.

The last time the definition of hot weather was exceeded after over a week in September was in 1947 when the thermometer climbed over 25 degrees Celsius on September 17.

After the warm Tuesday, the weather is going to become chillier and rainier.

Autumn weather will prevail in most parts of the country.
