No Serious Accidents in Easter Return Traffic Despite the Heavy Snowfall

Easter return traffic in the tough winter weather of flurries and heavy snowfall on Monday did not cause any serious accidents.

According to the Finnish Transport Agency, there have been some minor accidents caused by skidding.

The authorities had advised the vacationers to return home on Sunday because of the thick snowfall, which surely helped to reduce the number of accidents and divided the return traffic on two days.

*Editor’s note: A head-on collision of two passenger cars claimed the lives of two people, a man and a woman, in Ranua Lapland on Monday afternoon. There were three people in the other car and they got injured. According to the authorities, the collision was not related to bad weather.
