Neste has been identified as a leader in the Global Child Forum’s global assessment of children’s rights and business.
Neste Oyj, the Finnish oil refining and marketing company and the world’s largest producer of renewable diesel and renewable aviation fuel made from waste and residues, has been identified as a leader in the Global Child Forum’s global assessment of children’s rights and business, The State of Children’s Rights and Business 2023.
The Global Child Forum is a Swedish non-profit association that evaluates the world’s most influential companies and how they implement children’s rights in their business.
Neste was ranked in the top 15 out of 795 companies assessed in eight different sectors and six different regions. In the energy and utilities category, Neste was ranked second out of 119 companies. The report notes that Neste has continued to improve its performance since 2021, setting a positive example for the entire sector.
Neste, according to a statement related to the report, “is committed to respecting and supporting children’s rights in its operations, supply chains, business relationships and local communities.” “In line with its human rights vision, Neste aims to create a more equal and inclusive value chain by 2030, where everyone has a decent job. Children and education is one of the key priorities in this goal,” the statement notes.
The Global Child Forum brings together global leaders from business, civil society, academia and government to inspire action for social change in the area of children’s rights. The Global Child Forum’s work is informed by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Guiding Principles on the Rights of the Child, which guide business, as well as the organization’s own research and tools.
