The smell of roasted marshmallows in the heat of the village bonfire, the seducing sounds of the djembe drum . . . this and more can be experienced at the Market of Possibilities, an event arranged by the local expats of Porvoo on May 16.

Because the day is also the national pop-up Restaurant Day, at the market square all attendees will have an opportunity to try international food, among others vegan, Asian, Tanzanian. Also, the organisers are co-operating with the event UrbCult where local citizens can come and grow their own plants at Taidetehdas.

This is going to be the ninth time that this event is arranged. “Sense of community” is the chosen topic for this year and the organising team is asking a question “What can you bring to the community?” You can find the video answers to that question on the official event page on Facebook.

Local organisations are to present their activities in a joyful festival atmosphere. Workshops and other activities are organised to support the sense of community is the region.
