According to the Finnish Meteorological Institute, the long heatwave ended on Wednesday. The heatwave lasted 26 days.

But more hot weather is on the horizon next week, according to meteorologists from the Finnish Meteorological Institute and Foreca.

Southern and Central Finland are most likely to exceed the hot weather limit of 25 degrees Celsius.

“On Wednesday, warm temperatures may occur in the Uusimaa region and between Helsinki and Turku, as well as in the Kokkola and Vaasa areas. On Thursday, the heat will be more concentrated in the southwest around Turku, excluding the very coastal area, ” said Sini Jääskeläinen, the meteorologist on duty at the Finnish Meteorological Institute.
