Christmas is almost knocking at the door, and this will naturally affect the services in Helsinki.

Let’s start with the public transport.

On December 23, buses, trams and the metro will operate a Friday service.

On Christmas Eve December 24, buses, the metro and trams will run on Saturday schedule until about 16:00 in the afternoon.

On Christmas Day, December 25, a Sunday service will operate from about 11:00 in the morning.

On Boxing Day, December 26, the public transport will run on a Sunday schedule.

In the case of running out of booze during Christmas, you’re out of luck: Alkos are closed from Christmas Eve till Boxing Day. You can get cheap beer from many Alepas though. For example, Alepas at Mannerheimintie 102, Hämeentie, Helsinki-Vantaa airport, Herttoniemi, Peltokuumolantie and Mechelininkatu are open for 24 hours from December 24-26. If necessary, feel free to load on some groceries, too.
