Foreign Minister Timo Soini (Blue Reform) has been awarded a decoration of the II class of the Order of the Cross of Terra Mariana (Maarjamaa Risti teenetemärk) by the Estonian President Kersti Kaljulaid.
On the eve of Estonia’s Independence Day, Minister Soini will join the 112 people to be decorated in the award ceremony in Laulasmaa near Tallinn on Friday, February 22.
“The decoration is naturally a big honor. The relations between Finland and Estonia have become stronger in recent years. Estonia is a very important neighbor and partner for us,” Soini said in a statement.
Minister Soini will also hold bilateral discussions with President Kaljulaid Estonia’s President Kersti Kaljulaid and with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sven Mikser.
They will discuss the bilateral relations between the two countries, topical international questions and security in the Baltic Sea.
