As Finland’s six-month presidency of the Council of the EU comes to an end, the country gives European citizens an unconventional early-Christmas present.

Elements of AI is a free online course developed by Reaktor consultancy in cooperation with the University of Helsinki. It was launched in 2018 with the goal of teaching one percent of Finns about the basics of artificial intelligence. This target was passed in the first few months after launching, and the course has since become University of Helsinki’s most popular program.
