UPDATED:

The problems in the railway system that began on Monday morning, June 2, were resolved by the evening, reports the Traffic Management Finland.

There were disturbances in the commuter train traffic between Helsinki and Pasila. Because of a malfunction in the signal system, only every second P and I train (Kehärata) and K train (Kerava) was running.

According to the Helsinki Regional Transport Authority HSL, the headway between the aforementioned trains was 20 minutes.

The government-owned railway company VR says that disturbances and delays were possible also in the long-distance train traffic.

Initially the Traffic Management Finland estimated that the problem will be fixed during Monday morning.
