On Saturday afternoon, colourful kites will decorate the sky over Kaivopuisto park in Helsinki, in a new urban event.
You can create your own kite on the spot or bring a kite from home and join other kiters at the park. In addition, there are two kite flying displays directed by Chinese Zhiping Liu, a kite flyer associated with the Weifang International Kite Festival Committee.
The festival is a great opportunity for a picnic, too, so bringing of a picnic basket and a blanket are encouraged.
The kite workshops on the festival day are free of charge and open to anyone interested.
