The police have remained vigilant with e-scooter drivers since the new law came into effect.

The police in Southwest Finland have issued a large number of fines to drunk scooter drivers over the summer, reports Finnish regional newspaper of Central Finland Keskisuomalainen and Finnish National Broadcaster Yle.
A total of 403 fines have been given out in Finland for riding electric scooters while intoxicated, with 138 of these issued in southwest Finland, according to YLE.
Chief Inspector Kai Loukkaanluhta of the Southwestern Finland Police Department said that a few reasons for the high number of fines are the large number of rental e-scooters and the fact that the “traffic police have been very active in monitoring scooter drivers.”
In mid-June, the Road Traffic Act and Vehicle Act were updated to introduce a 0.5 per mil limit for electric scooter driving. The new law also prohibits individuals under 15 from driving light electric vehicles over 15 kilometers per hour.
