On Thursday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 6,952 new coronavirus infections in Finland in the past 24 hours.

843 in Tampere, 558 in Lahti, 509 in Vaasa, 387 in Helsinki, 233 in Turku, 219 in Espoo, 201 in Vantaa, 164 in Pietarsaari, 161 in Rovaniemi, 142 in Hämeenlinna, 139 in Kuopio, 116 in Ylöjärvi, 110 in Mustasaari, 104 in Mikkeli, 103 in Jyväskylä, 84 in Kouvola, 82 in Hollola, 80 in Kajaani, 75 in Kotka, 74 in Laihia, 65 in Pedesöre, 63 in Luoto, 60 in Kirkkonummi, 60 in Uusikaarlepyy.
Currently, 654 people are receiving hospital care for symptoms caused by the coronavirus. That’s one fewer than on Wednesday. Of them, 33 are in intensive care, which is four fewer than on Monday.
THL also reports 17 new deaths.
