From the beginning of the pandemic, there are 17,887 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland, according to the new numbers released on Monday by the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).
One new death related to the coronavirus has been reported since our last update on Friday. The death toll is at 362.
The number of new infections between Sunday and Monday is 90.
In the past 24 hours, most new infections were confirmed in the following cities: 20 in Helsinki (5,587), 19 in Espoo (2,065) and 17 in Vantaa (1,828).
In addition, new infections were confirmed in the cities and municipalities below:
6 in Turku, 5 in Tornio, 4 in Oulu, 3 in Kirkkonummi, 2 in Rovaniemi, 1 in Janakkala, 1 in Seinäjoki, 1 in Porvoo, 1in Askola 1 in Lieto, 1 in Kruunupyy, 1 in Uusikaupunki, 1 in Kauniainen, 1 in Kaarina, 1 in Pornainen, 1 in Tampere.
New infections were also reported in Oulainen but the number is unknown.
During the weekend, between Friday–Sunday, a total of 412 new coronavirus infections were confirmed.
The largest number of infections were confirmed in Helsinki (115), Espoo (70) and Vantaa (44).
The individual statistics of new infections don’t include municipalities where there are fewer than 5 infections.
Currently, there are 68 people in hospital care being treated for the coronavirus. 13 people are in intensive care.
