On Friday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) confirmed 738 new coronavirus infections in Finland.

In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:

188 in Helsinki, 66 in Vantaa, 57 in Espoo, 44 in Turku, 41 in Taivalkoski, 31 in Tampere, 29 in Jyväskylä, 28 in Oulu, 19 in Lahti, 16 in Porvoo, 15 in Rauma, 12 in Rovaniemi, 11 in Kaarina, 10 in Joensuu, 7 in Kerava, 7 in Kajaani, 7 in Kouvola, 7 in Uusikaupunki, 6 in Akaa, 6 in Tuusula, 6 in Kirkkonummi, 5 in Salo, 5 in Raisio, 5 in Lappeenranta, 5 in Lohja, 5 in Nurmijärvi.

One new death has also been confirmed by THL. The death toll is now at 986.

100 (+6) patients are receiving hospital care because of symptoms caused by the coronavirus. 18 (+3) patients are in intensive care.
