On Wednesday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare has confirmed one new death related to the coronavirus. The death toll is now at 1,030.
In the past 24 hours, THL has confirmed 679 new coronavirus infections in Finland.
Most new infections were found in the cities below.
156 in Helsinki, 70 in Espoo, 64 in Vantaa, 50 in Turku, 30 in Tampere, 17 in Kuopio, 16 in Hyvinkää, 16 in Oulu, 12 in Vaasa, 12 in Lahti, 10 in Lappeenranta, 9 in Kotka, 9 in Salo, 8 in Kempele, 8 in Tammela, 7 in Rovaniemi, 7 in Hämeenyrö, 7 in Forssa, 6 in Nivala, 6 in Humppila, 6 in Lieto, 6 in Ylöjärvi, 6 in Raisio, 6 in Seinäjoki, 6 in Porvoo, 5 in Kaarina, 5 in Kajaani, 5 in Mustasaari, 5 in Nurmijärvi, 5 in Kaarina.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 127, 861.
According to THL, 98 people are receiving hospital care because of symptoms caused by the coronavirus. 23 patients are in intensive care.
