According to the new numbers released on Tuesday, there are 7,351 confirmed coronavirus infections in Finland.

The number has grown by 55, since our last update on July 15.

The new numbers, according to THL, do not reflect a rapid daily increase in infections. “The new cases can be divided into several days backward because of delays in reporting,” said Tuula Hannila-Handelberg, chief physician at the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL).

Last weekend THL reported of 34 new coronavirus infections. Some of the cases, according to Hannila-Handelberg, have been confirmed as much as one or two weeks ago.
