On Thursday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) has confirmed 289 new coronavirus infections in Finland.

In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:

43 in Helsinki, 38 in Turku, 35 in Vantaa and 27 in Espoo.

New infections were also confirmed in, among others, Salo (11), Oulu (10), Kerava (10) and Lappeenranta (10).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 83,253.
