On Saturday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) confirmed 229 new coronavirus infections in Finland.
In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:
37 in Helsinki, 25 in Lahti, 23 in Turku, 19 in Vantaa, 15 in Espoo.
New infections were also confirmed in, among others, Salo (13), Imatra (8), Raisio (7), Tampere (7), Kokkola (5), Vaasa (5).
Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 88,561.
On Friday (death toll numbers are not published on weekends), the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) reported one three new deaths related to the virus.
The death toll is now at 922.
72 patients (+4) are receiving specialized medical treatment, 33 (+1) patients are in primary health care and 28 patients (+1) are in intensive care.
