On Tuesday, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) confirmed 214 new coronavirus infections in Finland.

In the past 24 hours, most new cases were found in the following cities:

44 in Helsinki, 29 in Espoo, 28 in Vantaa, 23 in Tampere, 14 in Turku.

New infections were also confirmed in, among others, Salo (6), Lahti (5), Nurmijärvi (4), Tornio (4), Jyväskylä (4).

Since the beginning of the pandemic, the total number of coronavirus cases in Finland is 84,501.

Today, the Finnish Institute for Health and Welfare (THL) also reports two new deaths related to the virus.

The death toll is at 893.

83 patients (+5) are receiving specialized medical treatment, 44 (+0) patients are in primary health care and 36 patients (+0) are in intensive care.
